Our Story
We’re Julie and Scott Winslow, and this farm has been in our family since 1978. The house— built in 1884, and full of stories—has watched over generations. We raised beef cattle here for years. Scott, a retired pilot, was often away, but always drawn back home. Julie grew up in Tidewater, and when a mutual friend introduced us in Charlottesville, life took root here, together.
About a decade ago, we tore down an old pole barn and built something new—something beautiful. Our oldest daughter saw it and said, “This is where I want to get married.” So we cleaned it up, added a few finishing touches… and the rest is history.
Hosting that wedding opened our eyes to something unexpected: the joy of sharing this land. The sweeping mountain views. The 200-year-old oak tree. The quiet. The space to breathe.
What started as a family celebration has now become a place where other families gather, laugh, cry, dance, and start their next chapter.

In the late 1970s my parents moved to Edgewood Farm as a part of their retirement dream. After finishing up my time in the U.S. Navy, I returned to Central Virginia and met my wonderful wife, Julie. We love our property and are grateful to share it with you and your loved ones.

Early in our marriage, Scott and I knew that family farming was right for us. We have enjoyed cultivating the land, raising beef cattle, preserving the old farm house and, especially, raising our three children. We continue to feel blessed with every newly engaged couple that comes to Edgewood.

We are fortunate to have worked with numerous talented vendors. We encourage you to work with vendors who have frequented our property, however, new vendors are always welcome.
Onsite Accommodations
Our two loft apartments, above the event barn, serve as complimentary bridal suites on your wedding day.
They can also accommodate 2-4 guests for overnights for a fee.
Our Venue Expansion
Over the years, we’ve learned a few things. We now have a much larger kitchen space, and more restrooms to help your wedding run as smoothly as possible. Plus, enjoy the convenience of extra storage and upgraded HVAC systems for a truly upgraded venue experience.
